It was an amazing time at the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation’s 40th Annual Conference, and a privilege to speak on LGBTQ issues after the fall of Roe v. Wade, as well as moderate other interesting workshops, including one on cybersecurity, which is a concern for us all.

Lesbian Visibility Week 2023

Having a great time at the NYSCDM and also celebrating Lesbian Visibility week!

Monday, April 24th through Sunday, April 30th, 2023

Lesbian Visibility Week aims to show our solidarity with all LGBTQI woman and non binary people in the community, as well as celebrate lesbians. It is essential that Lesbian Visibility Week is a voice for unity and lifts up ALL women, especially those who come from marginalized communities. Recent research (Pride Matters survey, conducted by Pride In London 2018) has shown that gay women are almost twice as unlikely to be out in the workplace as gay male colleagues.

Relationship Expert Tells People To Never Get Married Unless You're Willing To Do 3 Things

Recognizing that a long term relationship requires a lot of hard work and is probably one of the hardest paths to follow in life, this author feels that after studying couples there are three things that people can consistently do to make a marriage work. 

The author touches on how childhood trauma often comes into play and may impact a relationship.  As experienced adults, we recognize that everyone has problems or had problems in their life.  Childhood trauma is definitely significant and can cause major problems within a relationship. 

Most important is to really take the time to get to know one another before moving into a full-time relationship; to recognize and embrace that as people we grow and change...recognize you will face conflict with each other and the world and that it is best to work through that with one another.
